The Senior Specialist serves as the primary person responsible for the information architecture,interaction,and visual design for TD Ameritrade'sthinkorswimweb platform.This individualis responsible fordrivinguserresearch andworking with senior executives and key business stakeholders to designinnovativeconcepts and experiences communicated in the form of wireframes, designs and clickable prototypes that can be tested with end-users.
This role requires a confident and creative individual with a versatile set of hands-on skills able to collaborate with fellow strategists and technologists on a cooperativeagile, agency-like team.The ideal candidate must show a fearless dedication to truly out-of-the-box thinkingvalidatedthrough user testing.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate brainstorming and sketching exercises for ideationexercises.
Lead site architecture sessions and site framework vision.
Present design work to inspire business partners to ensure projects are high impact and successfully implemented.
Approach responsive web designsystematically.
Advocate for consistent use ofthedesign system and standards across experiences.
Experience inaccessibility best practicesand implementation.
Driveconsensusthroughvalidated user research methodsandunderstandingbusiness goals.
Leadusability testingmethodologiesand strategic user research.
Participatein collaborative usability testing practices by note-taking, scriptwriting, and moderating.
Stayabreastof rapidly changing web and mobiletechnologies.
Conduct visual design QA and communicate issues to QA and technologyto ensure that designisimplemented as envisioned.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Experimental Psychology, Anthropology, Information Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
4-7 years designing Web-based or mobile transactional productsand large-scale consumer websites orapplications.
Proficient in tools like Mural, Figma,Invision& Sketch
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute creative ideas through the creation of wireframes andhigh-fidelityprototypes.
Strong understanding of visual design principles (layout, color, typography, etc.)
Self-motivated, client experience-oriented, and a dedicated team player.
Extremely detail-oriented, able to define ideas down to a specificationlevel.
Excellent communicator,facilitator, and storyteller
Good project managementskills;ability to plan, manage, and execute under tight deadlines in a collaborativeenvironment.
Experience in afast-pacedAgile team
Knowledge of the financial industry and active trading a plus
Online portfolio or samples of recent work (i.e., mockups, prototypes, specifications, guidelines)
Military education or experience may be considered in lieu of civilian requirementslisted.
