DevOps Infrastructure Senior Engineer

Role:

As DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for interfacing with product delivery teams to build  scalable, world-class application deployment solutions and application services for our private cloud.  The ideal candidate is passionate about release automation, problem solving, and enjoys collaborating with others. The individual has extensive experience writing Java script, Git/Bitbucket, Jenkins, Eclipse, Maven, Groovy, and possess excellent troubleshooting skills in a Linux environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement automated application deployment solutions for enterprise applications by following build & setup engineering guidelines, understanding build framework, following best practices for Build and configuring entities & applications as required.
  • Manage & maintain source code repository in BitBucket/GIT, implement hooks, improve practices of GitOps, code merge & tagging policies, establish process control points
  • Create & maintain a single click end-to-end automated deployment tool that will be used in setting up dev boxes, environments and sandboxes.
  • Improve deployment process through automation by automating the build related tasks leading up to building a continuous integration system for all our products
  • Engineer and support user on-boarding process to the deployment platform
  • Engineer, evaluate, and support application development services in a cloud environment
  • Develop & maintain various deployment scripts written in Perl, Shell, Groovy etc.
  • Manage & maintain workflow management process in JIRA
  • Develop & maintain continuous integration and deployment system in Jenkins
  • Develop & maintain various deployment scripts written in Java script, Shell, Groovy etc.
  • Setup & maintain the archive of software releases for major/minor/patch releases

Requirements:

  • 4 Year College Degree; Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a Build/Release engineer in a large server farm/environment
  • Strong programming/scripting background with extensive knowledge of Unix/Linux
  • Experience with the following languages:
    • Groovy
    • Shell / Bash
    • Java/ Java Script
    • Python
    • Nodejs
  • Experience working with code repositories and other tools and applications such as:
    • GIT / Bitbucket
    • SVN
  • Experience with automation of planning and code review tools such as:
    • JIRA
    • Confluence
    • Fish Eye
  • Experience with software build tools such as:
    • Ant
    • Maven
    • Gradle
  • Experience with continuous integration build systems such as:
    • Team City
    • Jenkins
    • Concourse
    • Hudson,  etc.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms and deployment tools such as:
    • PCF / Cloud Foundry
    • XL Deploy and XL Release
    • Kubernetes/Docker
    • Eclipse
  • Experience using tools to integrate best practices like static code analysis, automated unit tests & regression tests, code coverage analyzers, creation of sandbox environments etc.
  • Experience with network, system, firewall administration
  • Experience of Building & Packaging Mobile applications would be an added advantage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment & independently while tackling complex problems
  • Military education or experience may be considered in lieu of civilian requirements listed
