Role:

The Business Transition Services (BTS) Senior Manager position is responsible for the service delivery, transition management and operations for Advisors that are transitioning new bulk business to TD Ameritrade Institutional (TDAI).  The BTS Team is dedicated only to bulk transition business and delivering world class service to new advisors joining the platform.  This is a unique department in the organization and is responsible for handling Advisors during a sensitive and defined period of time.  Servicing these relationships require an experienced and proven leader who can analyze complex business requirements, and then design and implement a customized transition processes with the appropriate service model and risk mitigation controls to meet the unique needs of this client base.  The BTS Senior Manager will need to work directly with senior executives in Institutional Sales, Institutional Senior Management Team, Risk, Compliance and Legal to balance client satisfaction while executing a successful transition.  This position is also responsible for working with Institutional Sales to cultivate prospective client relationships.  The BTS Senior Manager will oversee a team of Senior Relationship Managers, an Operations team and a fulfillment group.    

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes a personal working relationship with senior level employees of a new advisor.  Conducts regular touch points to understand the client’s needs and objectives, and then designs and implements customized processes that meet those needs.
  • Collaborates directly with senior level executives in Institutional Sales, Service, Risk, Compliance and Legal to design and implement the appropriate WSPs and internal controls to manage firm liability.
  • Creates business cases and uses influencing skills to gain approval for small and large projects designed to meet the unique needs of a transition.
  • Develop a track record of successfully improving key business metrics. Persists in accomplishing objectives despite obstacles and setbacks.
  • Adherence to working supervisory procedures and internal controls as measured by internal and external audits.
  • Removes client irritants and drives continuous improvement through innovation and problem solving.
  • Uses data and experience to validate client demand forecasts and builds the necessary capacity to meet client expectations.
  • Provides performance coaching and discusses career goals on a quarterly basis.
  • Recognizes and rewards performance.
  • Provide associates with the appropriate challenges and empowerment
  • Assists Institutional Sales in helping a prospective client establish TDAI as their strategic partner of choice.
  • Design and implement customized transition service strategies that meets the unique service needs of existing and prospective clients.
  • Works with Institutional Sales to identify and pursue new or expanded business opportunities.  This could include helping a client integrate a new acquisition or transition a bulk of new business to TDAI.

Requirements:

  • Series 7, 63 and 24 required.
  • Previous experience leading large teams in the RIA, Brokerage Service industry required
  • 7+ Years of previous brokerage experience, preferably supporting Advisors in a front or middle office environment
  • Ability to lead a group of 15-20 Associates in meeting critical time and quality metrics on a daily basis
  • Strong decision-making, judgment, problem-solving, analysis, project management and presentation skills required
  • Experience leading customer-driven initiatives including analytics, issue identification and resolution, and design of improvements and enhancements.
  • 20% travel required.
  • Military education or experience may be considered in lieu of civilian requirements listed
