Senior Analyst, Technology Risk

Drive TD Ameritrade's IT Governance and Risk Management efforts as our Senior Technology Risk Analyst.  Align technology processes, policies, and standards with risk in the technology space according to business risk with the end goals of establishing the appropriate level of controls and associated metrics.


Take responsibility for operational management of Risk Management functions within technology including Risk, Audit and Compliance activities via an established practice management approach. Demonstrate a  strong understanding of IT Governance and Risk Management frameworks, process models, experience in managing technology and organizational change projects and a high level of capability in the use of metrics definition, formulation and synthesizing data into meaningful management metrics.  Support Technology responsibilities related to the Internal Control Assessment Program (ICAP).  You’ll  play an integral role in providing education as needed to Technology Business units in regards to the ICAP program as well as individual controls and there related test plans. 


Work closely with internal team members, business partners (Audit, Corporate Risk Management and Technology Compliance) and other stakeholders at all levels of the technology lifecycle in order to ensure that risk is adequately managed and controls meet or exceed business and regulatory needs and objectives.


  • Metrics Framework & roll-up to KRI reporting for various audiences
    • Establishment of metrics and thresholds
    • Ongoing support and maintenance of metrics
    • Creation of regular metrics packages and/or dashboards
  • Risk Committee Reporting
  • Compile and maintain on-going metric reports at several different levels of detail.
  • Manipulate data using spreadsheet and database applications taking into account technical knowledge of operations, reporting formats and objectives of data analysis.
  • Utilize data sets in several key systems including, but not limited to Remedy, Clarity, MS Excel, MS Access and Jira).
  • Ensure data integrity in all reporting and analysis functions.
  • Perform data validation to ensure accuracy and quality of data.
  • Comprehensive risk metrics framework that aligns metrics with CTO Goals and ties to associate PFP
  • Yearly refresh of metrics to align with CTO Goals
  • Ongoing analysis to refine baselines and thresholds
  • Guidance/best practices for creation of operational metrics and alignment with goals and KRIs
  • Establishment of metrics and thresholds


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Mathematics, Finance, Economics or Management Information Systems
  • IT Risk Management experience required
  • Expert level understanding of IT Audit and risk based audit approaches
  • Infrastructure technology experience (metrics / process / initiative management)
  • Advanced in spreadsheet, reporting and database tools (Excel, Access and other Microsoft Office applications) – This cannot be understated
  • Thorough knowledge of technology system processes, reporting functions and methodologies
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced/changing environment
  • Statistical analysis and graphical data display experience
  • Proficient understanding of data base structures, SQL, relational databases and concepts.
  • Strong Data Analysis Skills
  • CRISC, COBIT 5, NIST, and/or CISA preferred ITIL Foundations or more advanced levels is desired
  • Military education or experience may be considered in lieu of civilian requirements
