The primary responsibility of an Electronic Communications Group (ECG) Team Manager is to supervise, coach, and develop a team of associates in the conduct of their duties. This position involves leading and developing team members by leading goal-setting sessions and creating action plans for an exceptional client experience as well as individual career planning and progression. Other areas of responsibility require extensive knowledge of the securities industry including trading strategies, TD Ameritrade's products and services, internal policies and procedures. Superior client support and management skills are required as they will be required to coach and develop relationship skills in associates. The ECG Team Manager will report to a designated Senior Manager. Team Managers may be responsible for project management as periodically assigned by Senior Managers



  • Manage and supervise a team of associates interacting with and providing service to clients via email, chat, and social media channels such as Twitter and Facebook
  • Provide one-on-one coaching, conduct feedback sessions & performance appraisals
  • Provide additional training and support based on individual team member's development needs and goals; this will include but is not limited to monitoring associate's client service interactions for the purpose of assuring quality and assessing skills
  • Motivate and inspire team members, both on an individual and team level, with regards to achievement of corporate, business unit and personal goals
  • Promote a positive, client focused environment
  • Effectively communicate the Corporate vision and initiatives with your team
  • Establish and execute coaching for business results, development, accountability, and motivation
  • Reward & recognize top performers
  • Deliver effective communication to clients, business partners, associates, and senior leadership
  • Collect, track and analyze individual/departmental performance data for the purpose of improving operational efficiency
  • Establish a strong Lean Management System while reinforcing best practices
  • Complete all regulatory reviews and performance reviews effectively, timely, and with excellent judgment
  • Identify and mitigate risk to clients and TD Ameritrade
  • Lead/Facilitate daily team Huddles according to Standard Work
  • Lead/facilitate identifying and resolving problems identified by the team



  • Advanced electronic communication experience with clients
  • Outstanding communication, listening and analytical skills
  • Ability to provide honest and constructive feedback regarding associate performance, focusing on the client experience, and achievement of personal, professional and company goals
  • Ability to effectively coach, mentor and motivate representatives while accommodating for individual strengths and weaknesses
  • Willingness to understand and support changes within the organization, ability to lead associates through change and uncertainty in a positive manner
  • Willing to employ participative decision making skills, allowing team members to provide feedback and input with regards to their development
  • Ability to assist in the dissemination of information on an individual and team basis, gauging understanding and retention by team members
  • Ability to provide accurate, courteous and efficient support to team members
  • Capable of handling multiple, complex tasks simultaneously
  • Recognize opportunities for improvement and recommend changes in current processes or procedures to enhance personal and organizational effectiveness and efficiency
  • Provide an approachable means for representatives to escalate questions and issues
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with social media
  • Full understanding of trading strategies
  • Series 7, 63, and to obtain the 24
  • Military education or experience may be considered in lieu of civilian requirements.
