Role:

The Senior Manager, Third-Party Lifecycle Management(TLM) Program is a mid-level management position responsible for leading a team of Associates and/or Vendor Management Consultants within the TLM office.  The TLM office directs all efforts under the TD Ameritrade TLM program, including definition of TLM policy and program, design of firm-wide internal controls, and execution support for business unit customers.
The Senior Manager will lead the team of Vendor Management Consultants in the day-to-day operation of the TLM program and the team will also have additional program responsibilities.
Additionally, the Senior Manager will help define strategy, direction and business requirements for TLM / Vendor Management technology infrastructure, oversee creation of processes to support effective and compliant vendor management in alignment with FINRA regulations and TDA policy, and establish strategic plans to further TLM programs across the enterprise by providing insight and recommendations to leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage 3+ Vendor Managers in the daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual running of the end-to-end TLM vendor engagement lifecycle including onboarding, due diligence, monitoring, performance management and termination/off-boarding
  • Ensure reporting accuracy, consistency, data integrity and creation/distribution of scorecards, dashboards, and reports, as appropriate, including KPIs to measure business objectives and ensure alignment of business objectives
  • Support business requirements gathering, stakeholder requirements assessments, and feasibility studies of Vendor Management opportunities, including Vendor Risk Evaluation tools, Central Data Repository tools, and other vendor management platforms
  • Negotiate with leadership, technology, and key business partners on project prioritization and resourcing and set and implement practices and operating standards to continuously improve quality and reliability
  • Develop and maintain strong Client, Peer, and Partner relationships, as appropriate, across various levels and areas of the organization in support of overall portfolio accuracy, relevancy, and delivery
  • Maintain strong, “trusted advisor” consultative relationships with stakeholders and users through delivery of critical initiatives, growing both Supply Management’s, as well as the Third-Party Lifecycle Management initiative’s, influence and reach into these groups
  • Serve as a vendor management subject matter expert, and lead the development of proposals/plans, while providing guidance to business partners and team members
  • Leverage feedback from the team and key partners, aide in development of yearly and quarterly department goals, in keeping with TDA’s core values
  • Own key aspects of third-party lifecycle management program beyond daily activities (e.g. governance, policy, reporting and analytics, continuous process improvement efforts)

Requirements:

  • 4 Year College Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • Graduate Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7-10 years relevant  vendor monitoring & management, procurement, and/or financial services experience
  • Demonstrated vendor monitoring skills, defining, identifying, tracking, and reporting of third-party related risk
  • Familiarity with FFIEC, FINRA, OCC, SEC related regulatory requirements related to third-party lifecycle management
  • Experience designing and deploying third-party lifecycle management models/programs
  • Demonstrated vendor management skills, with the ability to draft vendor related SLA’s, and experience tracking and reporting vendor’s performance against defined SLA’s 
  • Familiarity with lean management systems and/or six sigma process improvement and design methodologies
  • Demonstrated success developing and leading high performance change and project management teams to continuously satisfy commitments 
  • An established track record and proven leadership in developing and implementing business strategies, translating business requirements into technology platforms,  and creating and monitoring performance dashboards to enable expense management activities
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize, track, report and deliver results 
  • Strong organizational and change management skills
  • Strategic thought leadership with strong customer focus
  • Superior communication and strategic influencing skills, at both the peer and senior management levels
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information and articulate key messages concisely
  • Strong problem solving and conceptual thinking abilities 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, readily connecting with others and able to build and sustain excellent relationships at multiple levels in the organization
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, virtual, and dynamic environment
