Senior Business Analyst, Content Management

Role:

See yourself helping us evolve our end to end client experience by better using our digital assets and content.  Help the business decide how they want to use tools and workflows to create, share, and reuse content across multiple web sites and apps.  You will work with both business and technology stakeholders, translating user needs into features.  You will be part of the technology (T2) organization and part of a whole Agile team dedicated to the implementation of a new Content Management System.  We will be rolling this out across multiple sites and apps and migrating content from the legacy platform to the new platform.  You will work with the Content Management Product Owner and will report to the Director of Marketing Technology.

Responsibilities:

Analysis

  • Works with Product Owner to define, prioritize, communicate, and secure agreement on objectives, scope, and high level roadmap.
  • Performs and communicates results of stakeholder analysis.
  • Defines, estimates effort, communicates, and secures agreement on plan of business analysis activities and artifacts.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to elicit, prioritize, validate, and document testable, developer-ready business requirements in the form of user stories.
  • Works with Product Owner to manage user stories within the team’s backlog.
  • Creates professional quality project artifacts such as charters, features, stories, success criteria, models (e.g., context diagrams, process maps, use cases), traceability matrices, and others as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and manage changes to feature sequencing.
  • Ensures that the solution design satisfies objectives and meets success criteria.
  • Liaises between business subject matter experts and technologists throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Identifies and communicates risks and issues as well as possible solutions.
  • Collaborate with vendor partners as required, to incorporate external expertise
  • Apply past experience with Content Management systems

Relationship Management

  • Ability to summarize technical options and review against business needs
  • Able to extract notional business value and priority for trade-off decisions
  • Able to perform demonstrations of features to the business and collect feedback

Team

  • Operate within an Agile environment, specifically understanding how to pivot based on business needs
  • Cooperate within a close-knit, team-oriented environment where everyone is encouraged to support critical path tasks and work across roles when necessary to get the job done
  • Participate in planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives with a focus on speed to market, continuous improvement, and ensuring a healthy and safe team environment

Requirements:

  • 4 year degree.  Business or Information Technology preferred
  • 1-2 years of business analysis or equivalent
  • 1 year of financial services industry preferred
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced active listening skills.
  • Able to analyze and solve problems of a complex nature with little guidance and is often sought out to guide others.
  • Adept in a large variety of elicitation, facilitation, and modeling techniques.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment, building rapport and relationships to develop an advanced level of organizational savvy.
  • Advanced organization and time management skills.
  • Advanced in conflict resolution strategies.
  • Able to work on a program or multiple projects of high complexity simultaneously with little guidance.
  • Familiarity and experience with multiple business analysis methodologies.
  • Advanced working knowledge of the company, industry, and/or assigned business domain preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience in agile (Scrum and/or Kanban).
  • Experience with Content Management Systems, particularly Adobe Experience Manager or Teamsite
  • Experience Content Management business workflows, particularly across multiple business units and sites/apps.
  • Experience with Content Management System migrations
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly in Outlook, Word, Excel, and Visio.
  • Proficient in Agile backlog management tools such as Rally or JIRA.
  • Proficient in the use of web-based document repository applications (e.g., Microsoft SharePoint, Confluence).
  • Military education or experience may be considered in lieu of civilian requirements listed
